Which subnotebook to go: Asus EeePC, Everex Cloudbook Max, or HP mini 2133?  Decisions, decisions.  So many new ultra low-cost PCs (ULPC) have come out or are coming out, that putting the specs of each computer side by side seemed a good idea.  So, here are the basics statistics of each one.

The size and weight are standardizing at 8.9" and about 2 pounds. HP’s 2133 will weigh a about a pound more with the larger battery.  The real choice in these notebooks, will be the operating system - Linux or Windows XP.  There are a few differences in options and both Everex and Asus will be offering color choices in their upcoming models.

Unless you really need a Windows based computer (and many will if they buy one of these for business), then the Linux based models will offer more for less.  The Windows XP subnotebooks will probably cost more initially and ultimately since most business based software available for Windows XP must be bought.  Linux software is usually free and can be found at SourceForge.net.

Whichever choice makes more sense for you, trying the subnotebooks individually is the best way to make the right choice for you.
