Microsoft to continue supporting Windows XP if users will say so

By Arnold Zafra

Microsoft to continue supporting Windows XP if users will say so Microsoft may delay its plan of stopping support for the Windows XP by the end of June, if users would tell them so. But so far, Steve Balmer said, no one has told them to stop the plan, and so they will push through with it.

Mr. Balmer also pointed out that most users today have been pretty much perceptive of the default Vista installation when buying their PCs. Which explains why they have not received any demand from users to avert the nixing of Windows XP.

But this is contrary to what fans of Windows XP are doing online, voicing out their objection to Microsoft’s plan through blog posts, cartoons and online petitions. It has been reported that there were already 160,000 Windows users who have signed the online petition to stop Microsoft’s plan to stop support for Windows XP. These Windows XP users have clearly not been too happy with Vista.

Maybe, what Mr. Balmer needs is to do a web search using the following terms “Save Windows XP” and he will see that there are indeed users who want Windows XP to live a couple of years more, probably when the rumored Windows 7 is released. If Mr. Balmer can’t find good hits using his Windows Live Search, he may either use Yahoo! Search or Google Search and he will certainly get good results.
